These horse-drawn vehicles originally used to give tours throughout the Yellowstone Park were traditionally painted a bright yellow. However, the same style touring wagon was also used for tours within Yosemite Park and were not always finished in the same yellow color. We built this touring stagecoach from the ground up here at the shop and finished it in a deep red with an aged patina for a antique appearance. Hand striping, lettering and scroll work with gold leafing completed this custom coach. Above Doug and the crew check to make sure the body is positioned correctly on the leather thoroughbraces that were used for suspension on the original Yellowstone Coaches.
Doug sits atop the completed touring coach and tests the brakes.
