This hay wagon has a lynch pin axle which makes it an early period hay wagon from around 1850's to 1860's. This wagon is approximately 16 ft. long. The wood on the bed appears to be all hand shaped with mortise and tenon joints. The bed also has sloped ends which adjust to fit the size of your load. The tires are void of any iron, they are all wood joinery. The brake system is a ratchet system located behind the wagon, so the farmer pitching hay could stop the wagon from the ground. The wood is in good useable condition and the finish is an antique patina all original never painted. This wagon would be great for a history to react its original job on the farm or it would make a great addition to someone's collection.
