Leonard LarsonWagon Maker Leonard is our antique man and he is a master at adding patina to something new and making it look one hundred years old. His main duty is restoring chuck wagons. This South Dakotan has been with us since 2000. As an old-time cowboy Leonard has a lot of experience with horses and gives our chuck wagons that authentic cowboy look. You will find Leonard working with his horses and mules or reciting his original cowboy poetry. Dave Thill Maintenance We break it, Dave fixes it. Working here part time, we could not operate if it wasn't for Dave's expertise at building new equipment or repairing the old. Dave also is a native South Dakotan and loves the outdoors.
Holly HansenVice President / Book Keeper holly@hansenwheel.com Holly got her start when she married me. Like most small business we are family owned and operated. Holly's background goes beyond bookkeeping; she also does our advertising, producing our catalog, upholstery, and customer relations. Along with rearing two teenage daughters, she enjoys gardening and crafts.
Jerome EvansShop Foreman jerome@hansenwheel.com Jerome has been with us since 1995 and has experience in every aspect of the trade. He is a South Dakota native with two years technical training at Mitchell Technical Institute. Because of Jerome's many skills you may find him in the blacksmith shop, his primary expertise, to coach building or on the phone with a customer. Jerome enjoys hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors, often scheduling his vacation time to correlate with opening deer season.
Jon ChristensenOffice Manager jonc@hansenwheel.com Jon has been with us since 1998 and started out in the shop, within a year and a half he landed a position in the office. He manages the retail side of the business, along with all shipping and receiving. Jon has a degree in business sales from Northern State College in Aberdeen, SD. He has been involved in drag racing since 1988 in the Superstock Class.
Tim HoffmanWheelwright Tim started as a wheelwright apprentice in 2000. With his construction background, he soon moved up to master wheelwright. Tim is a SD native farm boy. Along with all types of wheel construction, he also gets involved in wagon construction. On weekends you will find Tim and his dog Jack traveling the country roads in search of game.
Brian VanBurenWainwright Brian came to us with an extensive background in construction. Since 1998 Brian has been one of our lead wainwrights. Brian builds everything from Conestoga to hitch wagon bodies. Originally a native of Nebraska, Brian loves the outdoors and in his spare time is either fishing or hunting.
Joel WestburgBlacksmith Joel is our main blacksmith and can build anything from iron. Joel has been with us since 2002 and has a background of metal fabrication, and experience working with horses. As a native South Dakotan, Joel enjoys rodeos and hunting. |
