With consideration for the comfort and durability, our spring seat design is built using original construction techniques along with heavy-duty springs and hardware (including hand-forged arm rest irons on "lazy-back" seat). Some assembly and drilling of holes required; the seat will ship partially knocked down as shown in the 3rd photo.

Q & A
Question: What type of assembly is required?
Answer: You will need to be able to fit the metal hardware components to the wood, drill holes (no pre-drilling is done) and assemble using provided carriage bolts. A drill, wrench and hand clamps are tools that you will want to have available.
Question: What wood is used in the seat?
Answer: The main seat base is made of poplar and the spring blocks are made of hardwoods (usually either oak, elm, or ash)
