Our customer purchased this original M1901 Army Escort Wagon from our inventory of historic wagons. This wagon was in very good original condition with all original parts, except for the missing flair boards.
We recommended a light "preservation", which included carefully cleaning the surfaces and sealing the existing finishes with a penetrating oil. The missing flair boards were fabricated and given a drab olive finish along with the existing floor boards, which were more weathered than the rest of the wagon. Our customer opted to have new bows installed utilizing the original bow clips on the outside of the wagon box. This authentic wagon is now on display in a private museum in North Dakota, along with other horse-drawn vehicles that Hansen Wheel & Wagon Shop had the pleasure of restoring.
