Stagecoach Restoration

The authentic Eastern-Style Concord Stagecoach, above, was replicated from an artifact with all original parts. We received the historic concord coach from a museum with the hopes that it could be restored. Once we reviewed the piece thoroughly and discussed the extent of the original parts that it would be necessary to replace, the clients opted for us to replicate the stagecoach and leave the original coach intact.

Using the original coach as a reference for dimensional and design aspects, we replicated the wood and metal components. In keeping with a historic appearance, we applied a multi-layer finish that creates an antique appearance--incorporating historic embellishments and striping to create the overall effect. Supple leather upholstery and damask roof liner finished off the interior. Heavy leather was used for both the boot and thoroughbraces that provide the coach suspension. Our client now has an authentic stagecoach for display as well as the original coach with all of it's history still intact.
