Sheep Wagon Restoration

Our clients from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, purchased this authentic sheep wagon locally. They loved the idea of its historic significance to the area where they lived and wanted to "bring it back to life". In spite of the original condition of the wagon, this sheepherder's wagon had been home to settlers of the area and still had a rich story to tell.

When the sheepherder's wagon arrived at our shop, it was literally "held together with duct tape" and a few ropes for good measure. All of the existing parts showed they were original to the wagon and very typical of the layout and styling of these early "mobile homes". Our crew set to work recreating the parts, matching the styling and functionality of the originals. We were able to restore the original running gear, however, after reviewing the condition of the wheels and discussing how the client was planning to utilize the sheep wagon, the decision was made to rebuild the wheels.
