This antique metal pan serves double duty on a chuck wagon.

Always practical, the chuck wagon cook made sure that his equipment served double duty. This antique pan with lid was used to make sour dough bread, then was quickly put into service as the dish pan for after dinner.

Question: How do I keep my metal pans from rusting?

Answer: Always be sure to wash and thoroughly dry metal pans soon after use. Wiping the surface with thin coat of cooking oil can also be helpful.
